Archikidz believes that great cities need great public spaces for people of all ages to come together. As part of Vivid 2015 Archikidz transformed Hyde Park Barracks courtyard into PLAY[ground], the ultimate adventure playground, a diversity of activities encouraging imaginative PLAY, in the heart of the city.

PLAY[ground] brought together a dynamic and passionate team of creatives, with a shared passion for making our city a more equitable, liveable and sustainable one for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who were integral to bringing PLAY[ground] to life. Our Event Partners  - the clever team of landscape architects at HASSELL, the crew at Imprint Acoustics, Design Landscapes, Mirvac and Junglefy.  And the passionate and creative team of collaborators and builders  - AILA, Andreasens Green, Inov8 Access, Jump Squad HQ, Nanu, Sydney Rope Supplies and 3D Printing Studios.

A huge thank you to our amazing creative, passionate and inspiring team of Volunteers  - you rock!

A special thank you to our Monday Buskers - The Bluebirds - the talented duo Jane Driver & Sienna Kent. And a final thank you to our Principal Partners the City of Sydney & FJMT and our core Sponsors Eckersleys Art & Craft, Mirvac Design, OzCAD, SJB & Turner - for your ongoing support!

The legacy of PLAY[ground] lives on...the green wall created by Junglefy with hundreds of kids and their parents will be installed in its permanent location at Ultimo Community Centre very soon. The parkour equipment has a new home at Pyrmont Community Centre, and will soon become a new location for the boys from Jump Squad HQ to run parkour workshops.

Watch this space....we have all sorts of ideas of how to make our cities more playful and ambitions to make sure our city is a place where kids are actually 'seen & heard' more often.
